Participants will have access to personally review the titles discussed and will leave the session with a detailed handout. Two separate sessions: one for elementary titles, one for secondary titles.

Sally and Juli present the steps to creating and running a successful Book Club.  Their experience is derived from high school experience but is easily applicable to the middle grades.

Should we still be teaching Dewey, OPAC searching, and alphabetization? Or have new skills and learning modalities created a new need we have not yet met?  Imagine that you could start with a blank set and rebuild your library curriculum using the newer visioning documents -- NETS*S, Partnership for 21st Century Skills, and the AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner -- as guideposts.
