Writing an Information Literacy Curriculum: Where do I begin?

Developing an information literacy curriculum based on the blending of standards from AASL, MDE, ISTE, and Partners for the 21st Century. Step by step process for finding keywords and tying them to the learner benchmarks, and providing a roadmap to collaboration. Standards and templates for design will be provided to the participants. This will be of interest to all levels.

Digital Storytelling and Timelines with Web 2.0

Learn to use a selection of the best online sites for creating and sharing digital stories and timelines. Start with www.voicethread.com as you add images and audio/
text comments to tell a story and gather student responses. Explore projects using sites such as //www.magtoo.com to make a student’s digital story come alive with music and special transitions and www.scrapblog.com to create special layouts perfect for printing. Finish by learning to use the popular online timeline application www.timetoast.com to create a timeline as well as use timelines others have already
created.

Comic Books in Your Library: Understanding Graphic Novels

Illustrator and life-long comics fundamentalist Ryan Hipp will present on dispelling the myths behind comics to help librarians better understand their collections and understand how to identify age-appropriate comics materials.
