President's Corner
Welcome!
Judy Hauser, President
It is an honor to serve as President of the Michigan Association for Media in Education. In the last six months MAME members have already worked on a survey to help us understand more about our media centers, completed a joint video review project with the REMC Association, attended work sessions to provide direction for the association and held a successful annual conference.
This year our winter leadership conference will focus on becoming better leaders in our schools and profession. In the summer we will apply concrete skills to work on the standards and content expectations and at the fall conference we will examine library media assessment.
The MAME website will have some more value-added content available during the year. MAME members will have a one-stop shopping place to access Web 2.0/technology resources and the standards and content expectations in K-12 education.
Media specialists continue to be masters of collaboration and literacy skills to help raise student achievement. Research reports continually support that statement but how about your school? If anyone asks you how you help raise student achievement in your school can you answer that question? If you have the answer please share that information with or, if possible, even mentor other MAME members. If you don’t have the answer you need to take a hard look at your media center program. Be an integral part of your school!!!
