Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen began her writing career by writingnon-fiction works for children. After success in the non-fiction realm she moved to her first love, picture books. Her first picture book, Tightrope Poppy, the High-Wire Pig was published in 2006. Sudipta lives in New Jersey with her family and an imaginary pony named Penny.

Jennifer Charron Ward

Jennifer Charron Ward is the author of Running Home, a book about a puppy who runs away from home. Jennifer is a confirmed animal lover who was born and raised in Birmingham, MI. She earned a BS in Microbiology and a MS in Physician Assistant Studies. She currently resides in Oakland County, MI with her husband and two children.


Mark Crilley

Mark Crilley is the author of several works for children and young adults, including the Akiko comics, graphic novels and novelized series; and the Miki Falls manga series. His most recent work is a re-illustration of Oliver Butterworth’s The Enormous Egg. Mark resides in Michigan with his wife and two children.

Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen is a diverse painter, illustrator and muralist. He is most known as the illustrator of Michigan's Official State Children's Book, The Legend of Sleeping Bear. He has illustrated 25 books for Sleeping Bear Press.

Robbyn Smith van Frankenhuyzen kept journals of their experiences rehabilitating animals and tapped them to write her Hazel Ridge Farm series books "Adopted by an Owl," "Saving Samantha," "Kelly of Hazel Ridge," and the newest installment, "Itsy Bitsy and Teeny Weeny."

Ryan Hipp is an author-illustrator of picture books who lives in Grand Rapids, MI. He wanted to make books when he was little and his goal is to continue making them as an adult. Ryan also gives seminars for teachers, parents, and students to get kids excited about reading. Ryan cares about animals, loves comic books, science fiction & fantasy.

Nancy Polette

Nancy Polette is the author of picture books, junior novels and professional materials. She was a teacher of grades K-8 for 30 years. In addition to writing and speaking, she is currently a professor at Lindenwood University and St. Charles Community college. Nancy lives outside of St. Louis, Missouri.

Terry has written several books and is also the builder of Stone Circle. Located in Elk Rapids, MI, Stone Circle is a place for poetry, music & storytelling.
