Library Media Placements Update
MAME worked with the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Professional Preparation Services, (OPPS) to create a help sheet or "quick sheet" to assist Superintendents and other school administrators in understanding proper placement of ND certified personnel (School Librarians/Media Specialists).

SL 21 Measurement Benchmarks

Download the latest edition of the School Library 21 (SL21): Measurement Benchmarks for Michigan School Libraries for 21st Century Schools.
The benchmarks measure a library media program in three categories: 1) Teaching for 21st Century Learning, 2) Building the 21st Century Learning Environment, and 3) Leading the Way to 21st Century Learning, in which school libraries can earn a status of Qualified or Exemplary by the Library of Michigan, an Office of the Michigan Department of Education. The status earned is valid for three years. Find complete information on the Library of Michigan's SL21 web page.
Michigan has a total of 118 school libraries recognized as SL21 libraries. See the complete list at www.michigan.gov/sl21.
